Ail Rose de Lautrec
Pink garlic from the Tarn — one of the only garlic varieties in Europe with a protected geographical indication.
The story
Ail Rose de Lautrec has been grown in the Tarn département of south-west France for centuries. Its distinctive pink-streaked cloves are milder and sweeter than white garlic, with a subtle warmth that deepens rather than dominates.
It carries a Label Rouge and an IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) — one of the very few garlic varieties in Europe to hold either distinction. The harvest happens once a year, in mid-summer, and the braids are traditionally hung to dry in open barns through the late-June heat.
We're bringing a limited quantity to Reykjavík late summer 2026 as per usual. Demand will likely exceed what we can carry — so we're offering pre-registration to gauge interest and give priority to those who sign up early.
